I don’t think I know a kid in the world who doesn’t like turkey burgers. Whether it’s at the drive-thru or a family barbecue, turkey burgers are always a big hit. And it’s not just kids that like them but adults as well.
However, if you take a moment to look at the ingredients on a turkey burger, or any burger for that matter, most of them contain wheat which is used as a filler and binding agent to hold your burger together. Needless to say, this can lead to eating gluten by mistake.
These easy to make turkey burgers are lean and delicious. Above all, they don’t contain any hidden gluten. Trust me; after trying this recipe, you and your kids will NEVER want a store-bought turkey burger again!
Ingredients
- 1 lb. extra lean ground turkey meat
- 1 medium egg
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley – dried or fresh
- ½ teaspoon Italian herb seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ½ cup gluten-free flour – I use this on which is available from Amazon.com
- ½ oz. sun dried tomatoes
- 1 oz. gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
- ¼ cup white onion, diced
Directions
Take all the ingredients and put them in a large bowl. Combine them by hand. Leave for ten minutes to allow the flour to absorb the fluid. Form the mixture into four equal-sized patties. Cook on outdoor grill or in a hot frying pan for 4-5 minutes per side or until brown.
