I have a confession to make – I am a sucker for kitchen gadgets. I’m always on the lookout for anything that makes healthy eating and cooking easier. Over the years, I’ve bought a lot of different gadgets, some great, and some less so. Out of all the gadgets I’ve bought, my kitchen blender is my favorite.
I use my blender pretty much every day, whether it’s for making a quick breakfast, or creating tasty sauces for dinner. My blender gets used a lot!
Not sure which blender is right for you? Don’t worry – I’ve got you covered. Just check out my article The best blender for you for help and guidance.
Here are five reasons why I love my kitchen blender.
1) Make smoothies
If you don’t have time to cook and eat healthily, smoothies can help. And the easiest way to make a smoothie? In a blender! All you need is a few ingredients, and a couple of minutes, and you can have a super-healthy meal in a glass. Think you have no time to make healthy things to eat? Well, now you do! 2) Make meal replacement shakes
If you want to lose weight, you need to eat fewer calories. One way to do this is to replace high-calorie meals with low-calorie drinks called meal replacement shakes. Meal replacement shakes make losing weight very easy, as they require very little effort and no calorie counting. You can buy ready-made shakes, such as Shakeology, or you can make your own using a blender. Homemade meal replacement shakes are usually cheaper, and that’s what I prefer to do. Here are some weight loss meal replacement shake recipes to try for yourself.
3) Make soups
Do you eat enough vegetables? And I don’t mean a couple of times a week, but every single day? No? I thought not! One great way to make eating more vegetables easier is to make soup and to make soup, a blender really helps. Just boil up a selection of vegetables in a pan of water, add some stock and seasoning, and then pour into your blender and liquidize. You can have soup for lunch, dinner, or as a nutritious snack. Save unused soup and reheat it later, or put it into a thermos. If you have got a blender, making soup is really easy! For soup ideas, make sure you check out my recipe page.
4) Less waste
Overripe fruit is not very appealing. It looks unappetizing, and that makes you want to throw it away. Don’t! just toss that nasty-looking fruit into your blender and whip yourself up a delicious, nutritious juice instead! Just because the fruit is overripe, doesn’t mean it won’t still taste good. Using your blender can save you from throwing out fruit and wasting money, plus it makes for a great breakfast or snack.
5) More convenience
Blenders make a lot of slow, boring kitchen chores so much easier. It takes seconds to do jobs that might take you ten minutes or more. From making sauces and dips to creating delicious drinks, your blender can do it all. You can even use a blender to make sorbets and ice cream! Best of all, blenders are really easy to clean. Just partially fill with water, add a little detergent, and blast on high for 30 seconds to remove most if not all food residue. Simple!
Conclusion
If you don’t have a blender, I recommend you get one to make healthy home cooking a whole lot easier. If you aren’t sure which one is right for you, read my article The best blender for you for help and guidance.
