After exercise, and especially if you have been hitting it hard in the gym, you’ll need a big shake to kick-start your recovery. If you are looking to build muscle or gain weight, this is the shake for you! Packed with protein and carbs as well as anti-oxidants, and fiber, this shake has all you need to build bigger, stronger muscles. It is, however, high in calories so if you are looking for a slimming shake, this one is not for you! Feel free to replace the skim milk with soya, rice, or almond milk if you prefer a non-dairy shake.
Ingredients
1 scoop Vega Sport Performance Protein – vanilla flavor, on stock at amazon.com . My guide about how to choose the best protein powder for you.
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup skim milk
½ cup dry porridge oats
Directions
Place the milk in your blender and add the strawberries. Blitz on high until completely liquidized. Then add the protein powder and oats and blend again until all the ingredients are fully incorporated. Serve immediately – the oats in this shake can thicken up if left for too long. I went from a mid-range ($120) blender to a top model, the Vitamix 1709 ($484). And was there any difference? my answer here.
