    There is something really decadent about coffee, chocolate and nuts. It’s hard to believe something that tastes like a dessert can actually be good for you! Needless to say, this protein shake not only tastes great but also provides you with some essential muscle-building calories and nutrients. This is no lightweight shake – it’s best for straight after a workout so those of you looking for a slimmer shake, use less protein powder and fewer nuts.

    Ingredients

    ½ cup skim milk
    2 scoops Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard – chocolate flavor, available at amazon.com. Learn how to find the best protein powder for you here.
    1 level tablespoon instant coffee
    10 raw, unsalted almonds
    1 cup crushed ice
    1 packet stevia (optional)

    Directions

    Put everything except the ice and protein powder in your blender and blend on high until mixed. With the blender on medium, add the ice and protein powder and blend until smooth. The blender model I use and my  recommendations here.

    Protein: 51.5 grams
    Carbohydrate: 15 grams
    Fat: 14 grams
    Fiber: 1.9 grams
