The combination of sharp-tasting grapefruit, the tangy pineapple, and the delicious vegetables makes this smoothie truly unique. Not only does it pack a big nutritional punch, it also provides plenty of energy in the form of carbohydrates. This is a great smoothie for when you need a more substantial meal in a glass compared to many other low-calorie greens smoothies. Great for immediately after exercise.
Ingredients
2 cups fresh kale
1 cup water
2 large stalks of celery, chopped
½ cucumber, chopped
½ grapefruit, without skin
1 cup frozen pineapple
Directions
Place all the ingredients in your blender. Use the slow setting for 30-seconds and then the high setting for a further 30-seconds until the liquid is smooth and there are no bits left. No bitter green bits left, when using a resturant-graded blender. Pour into a tall glass and enjoy.
