Whenever you get the craving for non-Paleo diet snacks, such as potato chips, just whip these up instead. They’ll give you the same crunch and hint of saltiness, without the unhealthy carbs. Zucchinis are natural and they contain lots of vitamin C, which improves immune system functioning. In addition, Zucchinis contain potassium, phosphorus and magnesium.
What You Will Need
All that you will need is a preferred amount of Zucchini, a bit of olive oil to brush onto them (once they are sliced) and preferred seasonings. Everyone likes different seasonings – however, popular choices include sea salt or garlic salt. The main tip to keep in mind as you prepare Zucchini Chips is to slice them fairly thickly.
How to Prepare Them
If they are sliced too thinly, they won’t hold together while in the oven and they may even burn. So, slice them to a width of about five millimeters and then place them in a bowl. Sprinkle the slices with salt. Let them rest for about half an hour. Once this time period has elapsed, grab a baking sheet and lay out the slices. Pat them with paper towels in order to dry them. At this point, you should pre-heat the oven to 250 degrees.
Next, brush the Zucchini slices with oil and then add your favorite seasonings. If you can’t come up with any seasoning ideas, just utilize salt and pepper…these classic seasonings will work well with this recipe! Bake the slices for forty-five minutes. Then, turn off the oven without removing the baking sheet. Let the Zucchini slices rest for another forty-five minutes. At this point, these Paleo snacks will be ready to enjoy.
