This superb savory smoothie recipe tastes a lot like a virgin Bloody Mary and is seriously packed with vitamins, minerals, and fiber. If this smoothie doesn’t perk up your senses and taste buds, I’m not sure anything will. This is an easy way to get a day’s worth of vitamins and minerals in one quick hit. Delicious!
Ingredients
1 cups kale, stems removed
1 ½ cups chopped tomatoes
1 celery rib
1 scallion, sliced
¼ teaspoon minced garlic
Juice of ½ lime
¼ teaspoon ground red pepper
Pinch of sea salt
Directions
Blend the kale and tomatoes until smooth. Then add the celery, scallions, garlic, lime juice, red pepper, and salt and blend again. Serve in a tall glass with a stick of celery for garnish. Add a little more water if you want a thinner texture. I went from a mid-range ($120) blender to a top model, the Vitamix 1709 ($484). And was there any difference? My answer here
