Smoothies and meal replacement shakes are one of my favorite ways to start the day. Healthy, light, tasty, filling, and refreshing, they don’t make me feel sluggish and heavy like some foods can, and because they are ready in minutes, they are perfect for when you have a lot to do.
Recently, I agreed to go for a run with one of my friends. We had planned to go at around 11 am Saturday morning. When we met up, I asked my friend what he had eaten for breakfast. His answer surprised me – he said “nothing.”
Needless to say, part way around our run, my friend started to feel tired, and I felt great and wanted to keep going and going, all thanks to my breakfast smoothie.
I can never run very well if I miss my breakfast, but I also knew I wouldn’t be able to run if I ate too much. Subsequently, I started my morning with a coffee and this wonderful strawberry oatmeal breakfast smoothie I’m sharing with you today.
Whether you want energy for exercise, or just want a quick but healthy breakfast, this recipe is for you.
No matter what flavors you prefer, there are smoothies for you to make that you’ll love. All you need is a good blender (the blender I use and my other recommendations here) and a few simple ingredients.
