One of the most effective diets for weight loss is the low carb diet. When you eat fewer carbs, your body is much more likely to use fat for fuel and that means faster weight loss. Also, low carb meals also tend to be high in protein and healthy fats – both of which are filling – but still low in calories.
Some people think that, to lose weight, you have to give up eating tasty food but this recipe proves that just isn’t true! It’s delicious and easy to make, and I know you’ll love it.
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 8 hours
Servings: serves eight
Ingredients
- 2 lb. beef top round, cut into strips
- 1 medium white onion, chopped
- 8 oz. mushrooms, raw and sliced
- 14 oz. beef stock
- 1 teaspoon beef bouillon
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 16 oz. nonfat yogurt
Method
Turn your slow cooker on to Low. Brown the beef in a frying pan for 3-5 minutes and then put it in your slow cooker. Put the onion on top and then add the mushrooms.
In a bowl, mix the beef broth with the bouillon, Worcestershire sauce, and paprika. Pour the mixture into the slow cooker. Put the lid on your slow cooker and cook for 8 hours. When the cooking time is finished, stir in the yogurt.
Serve with a large portion of green beans or other low carb veggies of your choice.
