Sylvester Stallone’s commitment to the role was evident from the start, leaving millions of fans amazed that he had completely transformed himself into a hulking unit for the role. The training scenes in the movie were awe inspiring and the fight itself, legendary.

2. Bend it Like Beckham
David Beckham became one of the most marketable athlete’s of a generation and he certainly won a lot of fans over.
The main character in this film, Jess Bamra takes up football, despite the reservations of her deeply conservative parents, with people discovering she is a natural talent. Thousands of young girls got inspired to lace up their boots and get active, learning that despite many obstacles, anything is achievable when you combine natural talent with a lot of hard work. 3. Space Jam
Michael Jordan’s decision to participate made it all the more memorable as he is arguably one of the greatest basketball players of all time. The movie incorporates a lot of his backstory, with him shooting hoops late at night, snippets of his prime days at the Chicago Bulls and the forgetful baseball stint. Yes, this is a fun movie for the kids but it really does provide a good level of inspiration for young kids to aim high because. Jordan and the Looney Tunes had to prepare and push hard to defeat the evil space alien basketball team.

4. Chariots of Fire
The story of Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams at the 1924 Olympics delights and inspires. There is a fierce level of competition between the two runners, both determined to do well. Liddell is a devout Christian who will not race on a Sunday, Abrahams a committed Jew who is running to overcome discrimination.
Who can forget the scene which bookends the film, a group of young athletes in white shirts running on the beach to the tune of L’Enfant. Anyone who has seen it will remember a strong, sudden desire to put their running shoes on and get out the door running. 5. Pumping Iron
It was the Golden Era of Bodybuilding. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Franco Colombu, Lou Ferrigno and so many other legendary bodybuilders featured in this docu drama film. At the time, bodybuilding was still a relatively unknown sport which few people knew about. Gyms at the time were dominated by free weights. But the energy bouncing off the walls at Gold’s Gym California would have almost been enough to light up the whole state.
Everyone is working towards the ultimate Prize: being crowned Mr Olympia.
