This super-simple meal is so easy even the most hopeless kitchen neophyte should have no problem putting it together. It’s high in filling protein, low in carbs and fat, and virtually sugar free. Perfect for your 20 days no-sugar challenge! All you need to be able to do it take a few ingredients and pop them in a pre-heated oven. Simple!
Make sure you choose high-meat, no added fillers or sugar sausages to keep this recipe as healthy and tasty as possible. This may mean you need to go to a specialist butcher but, I promise, if you do you’ll thank me because the taste makes the effort worth it. You can also make this dish with vegetarian sausages but look out for hidden sugar in those; read the label!

Ingredients – 2 Servings
600 grams white or savoy cabbage
6 high-meat sausages
2 tablespoons of butter
½ cup of vegetable stock
1 clove garlic – finely chopped
Method
Chop and wash the cabbage thoroughly. Place in the bottom of a lightly greased baking dish. Place the sausages on the top. Spread the butter around between the sausages, pour the stock over the dish and distribute the garlic between the sausages too.
Cover with aluminum foil and place in a pre-heated oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit/200 degrees Celsius for 45 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for a further 15 minutes to brown the sausages.
Remove the sausages, put the cooked cabbage on plates using a slotted spoon to drain any excess liquid and then place the sausages back on top of the cabbage. Dinner is served!
